What are the advantageous and disadvantages of generation gap?

There’s a lot of talk about generation gaps, differences between generations, and the problems each gap creates. While some of that may be true, it’s also true that much of it is over-generalized hyperbole. It’s a good example of fear mongers trying to make a profit by solving a perceived problem that doesn’t really exist. Like the old story of a consultant: he tells you he can determine why your favorite wrist watch that runs a minute slow each day, takes it off your wrist, hits it with a hammer, and says “yep, I that's your problem. I can fix it for $500.” Instead of focusing on the weaknesses of different generations we should recognize the macro virtues of each generation and how we might capitalize on those.
