• Smart phone app programmers are becoming the highest paid software engineers in the country
• Salaries are consistently at least 20% higher than in other areas of the job market

Of course, with the good side there is the flip side.
Disadvantages
• Smart phone app jobs are higher risk as the stakes are high (failure is not an option)
• Long hours, some jobs require 24X7
• Technology is changing almost daily. You must continually update your skill sets
• High stress
• Job security is lacking compared to union and regular 9-5 jobs
