in my view as micro-organisms cant decomposite the metals so corrosion is necessary
and disadvantage is that we cant use metal for long time as we want it work for our use

Advantages of corrosion:-
Surface corrosion forms an oxide layer. It acts as a barrier for air and moisture and thereby preventing the inner metal from corrosion.
Some metals like zinc act as sacrificial anodes to prevent corrosion to other metals.
Disadvantages of corrosion:-
It reduces the strength of the structure, making it likely to collapse. It reduces the effectiveness of the device. It increases the maintenance cost. It is dangerous.
