4)if an area is drought prone then planned construction of dam might help in solving the problem.
∆There are many more advantages . some of its disadvantages are
1) dam construction requires a huge place and capital
2)if the dam has been constructed on an unfit surface or its abutements rest on a weak rock then mishappening may take place and water may cause widespread destruction.
