It is an interconnected network between computer and various peripheral devices that allows sharing of data or information through wired or wireless connection.

For internet connectivity we need an ISP server.

It stands for Internet Service Provider. It is an organisation or service that provides us access to Internet through wired or wireless connection

Advantages

• User Communication : It allows us to communicate to one or more person through various methods like : IM, Video calling, Video conferencing etc.
• File Sharing : By using networking, data or information can be shared or transferred from one computer/devices to another.
• Media and entertainment : Most of the companies and TV channels use network to broadcast audio and video including live radio and television programs.
• Hardware Sharing : Hardware components such as printers, scanners, etc. can also be shared. For example, instead of purchasing 10 printers, one printer can be shared among multiple users
• Software Sharing : Users can share software over the network easily. Therefore, large companies can reduce the cost of buying software by networking their computers.

Disadvantages

• Uncertainty in weak server : Failure of ISP server or internet connectivity can create problems in many organisations including school, colleges, business etc.
• Online threats : Most of the malicious programs are attached on the internet server ( either on any websites or file) due to which users are facing problems while surfing or doing anything on the web. Example: viruses, malware, Spyware, Adware, Worms, Trojan Horses, Spam etc.
• Economic problems : Due to the presence of online marketing, most of the local businesses are falling down.
