This is very insane idea of Odd-Even traffic. There is no positivity. As mentioned in earlier answers, there could be little less pollution and traffic. But it all depends on people if they follow the same. I feel this is a worst idea of traffic management in India. The same idea may be successful for other countries, but not for India where rules are manipulated by silly excuses such as, Ladies and VIP's. Ladies need all the power, balanced life, empowerment etc but they also need relaxations everywhere. That's really funny. I don't think other countries follow the same.
There is a simple idea as an Indian consumer, most of the people will arrange one more car/bike with even and odd both the numbers. We all are aware how good transportation and roads are maintained in India. Mr. Chief minister cares about only his 'AAM aadmi' image wrapping a muffler in neck and slippers in feet. He might have come from any background but there are no improvements apart from few protests. I think there are much better things to implement instead of protesting every time. Still Delhi-ties selected him. So, I think he is doing best. Now every people may have two cars/bikes, one with odd number and another with even number. Whenever required, the person can use the same.
I feel, if Govt. is actually interested to reduce traffic and pollution, then Solo Riding must be banned. I have seen 70% of daily traffic is surrounded by Solo car riders. If someone is likely to ride Solo, its better to commute on bike. It's much better option. But no one cares about this. Odd/even is a failure idea. I don't think it will make any improvement. But it will definitely result in collecting more business and tax to manage Govt. employee's salary. This is the only idea behind such scenario in my opinion. There are no positive points about this I feel.
