Answer:

advantages of the Permanent settlement:

• The amount that had to be paid as revenue was fixed and permanent.

• Even though the amount of revenue was fixed, the Zamindars were benefitted from the increase in the production.

• With this, the Zamindars got the encouragement to improve the production of the land.

• When production improved and expanded, Zamindars benefitted the most.

disadvantages of the Permanent settlement:

• Zamindars never invested to improve the land production.

• The revenue to be payed to the company was very high. Also, the rent paid by the peasants to the Zamindars was equally high which made the lives of the cultivator difficult. They also took the loan for this, and when they were not able to pay the rent, they lost their land.

• Zamindars who failed to pay the revenue to the company lost their title of Zamindari.

• When production increased, the company never benefitted from it. Also, they could not increase the revenue as it was fixed.
