Advantages:

• Local self-government solves grassroots-level people's problems. The different needs such as building and maintaining water availability of roads, building schools esc. The local self-government takes care of it.
• Local individuals have more possibilities to make decisions about their own local self-government issues.
• Local individuals have the best thoughts about how and where to spend cash on their growth.
• Local government can best attend to any problem or issue in a specific region.

Disadvantages:

• Local self-government's primary issues are the lack of resources.  
• Critics say the local leader fails to appreciate the state or national problems.
