Genetically identical offspring’s are produced as a result of which useful traits can be preserved
Special mechanisms such as pollination, and d the agents which helps in pollination are not needed as only one parent is required.
Seedless plants can be produced through vegetative propagation.
Disadvantage:
New characters can neither be introduced nor undesirable characters be eliminated.
The plants cannot withstand unfavorable condition as there is no genetic variation.
The disease of the parent plant gets transferred to the offspring.
