advantage : the power transistor has no voltage or current during the switching process. It can reduce switching loss and restrain EMI effectively.

Drawbacks: the resonance technique increases the voltage and current stress on components.

limitation : some zvs and zcs techniques requires variable-frequency control to regulate the output, which is a disadvantage .in zcs the power switch turns OFF at zero current but at turn-ON,the converter still suffers from turn ON loss caused by the output capacitor of the power switch.

I hope it will help you

Answer:

The full form of ZCS is: Zero Current Switching.

Explanation:

  • ZCS: A zero current switching is a resonant inductor, which is used to resonant the current to zero through the switch at time of turn-on and turn-off the switch.
  • There are some advantages and some disadvantages of this switching device, they are discussed below.
  • Advantages:

        (i) It can reduce the switching losses during turn-on and turn-off.

(ii) It reduces the power loss of the power transistor, which is operated at the Cut-off region.

  • Disadvantages:

        (i) Although it is used for eliminating the switching loss, but still some switching losses occur.

(ii) When fast switching occurs, certain increase in voltage and current can affect the series.
