Crystal field theory explains about the non degeneracy of d-orbitals in a complex, which indicates that ionic bonding is present in transition metal complex and account for number of observed properties

The VBT doesn’t explains the attractive forces present between the d- electrons of the metal ion and nuclear charge present on the ligand .

CFT explains the electrostatic nature of metal – ligands bonding which doesn’t explained by VBT

CFT stands for Crystal Field Theory and explains about the non generancy of orbitals in complex which indicates that bonding is present in transmission metal complex.

VBT stands for Valence Bond Theory and is used to describe the formation of different chemicals bonds between atoms.  

VBT doesn’t explains the attractive forces present between the electrons of the metal ions and nuclear change present on the ligand.
