What are the advantages of connecting electrical devices in parallel with the battery instead of connecting them in series?

the advantages of parallel circuit are :-

for eg in a circuit of 3 bulbs.if one bulb fuses the other bulbs will be still on.

the overall resistance is very low.

many bulbs can be connected in a parallel circuit but in series it can't be done
