Answer
Some of the advantages of parallel connection over series connection are,
- When the components are connected in series and if say one of them gets broken, then all the other components will also not work
- In a series connection we know that the current if the same and the voltage is different. So this isn't so good as different devices need different amount of current
- Whereas in a parallel connection the current is not the same and this helps us to make sure that current is distributed as needed
- Also in a parallel connection the resistance is reduced and so we all know lesser the Resistance more will be the current.

When the electrical devices are connected in parallel there is no division of voltage among the appliances. The potential difference across the devices is equal to supply voltage. Parallel connection of devices also reduces the effective resistance of the circuit.
