Complete seperation of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood. the four
chambered heart is seen in all mammals and birds and also seen in the
crocodile (one of the few reptiles with a four chambered heart). The four chambered heartprevents the mixing of onygenated and deoxygenated blood. By keeping the two types of blood separated, their efficency for supplying o2 to the blood increses. Birds and mammals cnsistantly use energy to maintain their body temp. as they are warm blooded animals. thus, these are the advantage of having a four-chambered heart.

Answer: Presence of four chambered heart serves two purposes. First, it ensures complete segregation of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood. Second, blood is received by the upper chambers and is pumped out by the lower chambers. This segregation between received blood and sent blood increases the efficiency of the heart.
