The advantages of this are that everyone in all parts of the world will know what it is. If you call it by the common name for the region it may have a different name if you were to travel to a different continent. This just simply helps to alleviate confusion and to make it easier for all to communicate about it.

The advantage of giving scientific names of organisms are because.
I am explaining with an example:
Many scientists in different parts of the world might have been calling their animals present there in different languages.
So if they come together and meet at a place they may call an organism, example tiger in different languages.
Then there would be a lot of confusion. So giving scientific names of the organisms are benifitious as they can call a single organism by a single name.
Example: Panthera Tigris.
