what are the advantages of having more than one standard time zones?

Advantages: take the example of India, in British colonial period India had two time zones one for the mainland of India and second one for the Assam tea bagan. Our earth is moved from west to east, so the sun in NE of India arise at 4 am in summers & 5:30 am in winters so they can started their work after in early morning as compare to mainland India. But after the independence of India, we have single time zone which is passes from IST(INDIAN STANDARD TIME) from naini, Allahabad. Which is inconvenient for NE region of India:
