What are the advantages of light bulbs in parallel

There is no division of voltage among the appliances when connected in parallel. The potential difference across each appliance is equal to the supplied voltage. The total effective resistance of the circuit can be reduced by connecting electrical appliances in parallel.

  • The voltage will be the same for all the bulbs connected in parallel and therefore the bulbs connected in parallel will be brighter than the bulbs connected in series.
  • Current through the parallel branch will be different because of the difference in resistance of each branch.
  • If any bulb connected in parallel fused, it won’t affect the rest of the bulb. Thus we can easily find the fused one and replace it.
  • The overall resistance will be reduced. Parallel connection offers resistance to the flow of current compared to series connection.
  • Parallel circuit connection gives you the opportunity to give the bulbs their individual switch.

Answer:

each lamp will get the entire battery/supply voltage, which is obviously advantageous

and if one gets damaged, the others still work as each one has a separate connection (or pathway) to the supply
