ADVANTAGES:1. To control the current in a circuit, series connection is useful.

2.On connecting the resistors in series the total circuit resistance increases and thus the current decreases.

3. Damage of electrical appliance and short circuit can be prevented by connecting the fuse in series with the mains as well as the electrical appliances.
