A TEST CROSS HELPS YOU DETERMINE THE GENOTYPE OF A PLANT SHOWING DOMINANT PHENOTYPE. ie  whether the plant is homologous dominant or hetrologous dominant

in a test cross a given plant whose genotype is to be determined is crossed with homologous recessive plant-

1) if the given plant is homozygous dominant then all the progeny of test cross will show dominant phenotype

2)if the given plant is hetrozygous dominant then dominant and recessive phenotype will appear in the ratio 1:1
