a Terrestrial organism can obtain oxygen directly from air and has slow breathing rate where is an aquatic organism has to obtain oxygen which is dissolved in water and so it has high breathing rate. this is the amount of oxygen dissolved in water is fairly low as compared to the amount of oxygen in air. therefore Terrestrial organisms have much easier access to Oxygen and have an advantage over aquatic organism.

♤The amount of oxygen dissolved in water is fairly low as compared to the amount of oxygen present in air.

♤ the rate of breathing in aquatic organisms is much faster than that seen in terrestrial organisms.

♤ Fishes take in water through there mouth and force it past the gills where the dissolved oxygen is taken up by the blood.
