Secular means following one’s own religion and non-interference by the country in large about religious community. A secular country does not have any religion declared as an official religion. Anyone can follow any religion, or they need not have any religion at all.  

Everyone is free to practice their own religion and freedom of practice of religion is a criterion in the rules and regulations of our country. No discrimination is made based on religion in any field.  

In such a secular country like India, if one insists on religion as the base for any decision, then it has an adverse effect. These acts are politically motivated, and it destroys the very essence of secularism.  

India thrives on secularism and it is called as one of the secular country world over.
