We have seen changes in crop growing brought about with the increase in world hunger due to population growth. Also weather patterns have changed. These changes have brought about modification of foods we eat. Plants that can withstand drought, pest, and chemicals that controls weed growth. There is large scale agricultural farming owned by corporations and automatic farming equipment that plants the seed, and harvest the crops and package the crops as it is harvested in the fields. Crops are also grown inside with artificial light and with water and without soil. Modifying seed may not be a good thing . Many housewifes today purchase organic grown food to avoid the GMO and chemicals that are used to grow food. I haven’t made my mind up if it makes any difference in eating GMO or fertilizer grown foods. Some farmers use chemicals to get a bigger yield. But, the wind blows the fumes to adjacent fields which hurt the farmer who is growing organic crops. There are good and bad points in the green revolution. Many of the fruits and veggies we eat are firmer and better looking, but the taste and juice are often lacking. But, more people are being fed.
