The applications of rate law:-
- Rate law - According to the law of mass action, the rate of a chemical reaction is proportional to the product (x) of the molar concentration of the reactants each raised to a power usually equal to the number of molecules, a and b, of the substances A and B undergoing react.
⇒ Product
- The rate law is determined experimentally. But this cannot be created from the stoichiometry of any balanced chemical equation.
- Application of rate law -
- By knowing the rate law and the rate constant any particular can measure the rate of any reaction at a particular given concentration.
- The concentration of the reactants or the products and during the progress of a reaction can be estimated with the help of rate law and the rate constant.
- The mechanisms of simple or complex chemical reactions can be predicted and studied.
