There are many assumptions that a scientist takes before doing an experiment.
Some of them are:
A) Uniformity: This means that the laws of space and time are same on places of the Earth. In other words, if a scientist on the other part of the world is doing the same experiment, he should get similar results.
B) Causation: Which means that everything that is happening has a reason for it to happen.
