What are the basic differences between the early nationalists and the assertive nationalists on the basis of their beliefs,programs and objectives?

The early nationalists believed in demanding reforms while adopting constitutional and peaceful means. They used fair means to achieve their aims whereas the assertive nationalists were known as the extremists and used extreme  and aggressive measures to achieve freedom from the british rule.
