Answer:

There are four basic functions of a computer. These are given below:

1 Input: Computers need to receive

data and instruction in order

to solve any problem.

Therefore you need to input

the data and instructions into

the computer.

2. Storage: Computer needs storage

to save data and

instructions permanently.

you need to feed data and

instructions into the

computer system before

the actual processing

begins. The data and

instructions are stored in

the memory of the

computer. Generally

memory means. Primary

memory is present inside

the CPU that is why it is

also called internal

memory and main memory.

Primary memory is of two

types RAM and ROM. The

storage unit performs the

following major functions :

(1). All data and instructions are stored in storage unit before and after processing.

(2). Intermediate results of processing are also stored here.

(3). Final results are also stored here.

3. Processing: It takes the action on

input data, and process

it. The act of logical

operations on data is

called processing.

4. Output: The output unit of a

computer provides the

information and results of a

computation to the user.

The output unit performs the following functions:

(1) Output devices accept the results from the computer.

(2) Then output devices convert it to a form that the user can understand.

(3) And then gives the converted data to the user.
