What are the basic life process. Elaborate
Answers
Answer:
The basic processes of life include organization, metabolism, responsiveness, movements, and reproduction. In humans, who represent the most complex form of life, there are additional requirements such as growth, differentiation, respiration, digestion, and excretion. All of these processes are interrelated.
Life Process :
The process that take place in the living things which are necessary for the existence of life on Earth are known as Life Processes.
The basic life processes are :
Nutrition
Respiration
Transportation
Excretion
Control and coordination
Growth and Movement
Reproduction
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Nutrition
- The process of intake and utilisation of nutrients , available from outside, which are used as an energy source or for biosynthesis of body constituents is known as nutrition.
MODES OF NUTRITION
- Autotrophic Nutrition
- Heterotrophic Nutrition
Autotrophic Mode of Nutrition -
Organisms produce their food themselves, with the help of carbon dioxide and water , in the presence of chlorophyll and sunlight.
For Example - In Green plants ( Producers )
Heterotrophic Mode of Nutrition -
Organisms cannot produce their food themselves, but they depend on plants and animals for their nutrition.
For Example - In Animals and Human Being.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Respiration
- Respiration is the process which involves intake of oxygen from outside and breaking down of nutrients molecules to produce energy.
Two types of respiration
- Aerobic
- Anaerobic
Reaction Occur -
Aerobic Respiration :
Glucose is completely oxidised with the help of oxygen.
It releases carbon dioxide, water and large amount of energy.
It basically occurs in plants and animals.
Anaerobic Respiration :
Glucose is partially oxidised and no oxygen is utilised.
It releases ethyl alcohol or lactic acid and less amount of energy.
It occurs only in cytoplasm of cell like yeast.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Transportation
- Need for transportation system -
Organisms need oxygen , food , minerals , salts and hormones , to get energy and materials for developmental processes and for many metabolic activities.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Excretion
- Excretion is a biological process needed to remove metabolic, soluble nitrogenous toxic wastes from the body.
