Aspects of Democracy
A number of writers have also commented on three aspects of democracy e.g.
- Ordinary Democracy
- Economic Democracy
- Social Democracy
Ordinary Democracy
Ordinary democracy is understood in its political sense. In this sense it means sovereignty of the people and enjoyment of civil and political rights. This system makes the government and the state democratic.
Economic Democracy
Economic democracy means: From each according to his ability and to each according to his needs. It means that it is the basic right of every individual to enjoy bread, cloth and shelter. This system makes the society democratic.
Social democracy
It means all human being must be treated as human beings. There should be no distinction on the bases of colour, caste and creed. People should mix freely. There should be no prejudice.
