Since vernacular language made it easier to convert people to Christianity, it was eventually used over Latin. Technological advances, which helped spread vernacular language and lead to increased literacy rates were essential. There were several factors responsible for the rise of vernacular language.

The vernacular language is simply defined as the language spoken in the streets. This is the language that will be heard spoken among st the common people, and used to define and identify the groups of people. The Vernacular Language impacted and changed the cultures during the early centuries. Some of the main factors contributed and were responsible for the rise and spread of the vernacular language were demand of spreading religion, demand of education, and the need of a commonly spoken language for the literature to be produced in to be available to all.
