The Common Service Centre Project is IT enabled Government Services should be accessible to the common man in his/her village, through efficient, transparent, reliable and affordable means. Implemented under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP), the Common Services Centers (CSCs) are ICT enabled front end service delivery points at the village level for delivery of Government, Financial, Social and Private Sector services in the areas of agriculture, education, banking, utility payments, etc.  

        CSC scheme consisting of the CSC operator (called Village Level Entrepreneur or VLE); the Service Centre Agency (SCA), that will be responsible for a division of CSCs; and a State Designated Agency (SDA) identified by the State Government responsible for managing the implementation in the entire State.  

        Tamil Nadu was one of the pilot States identified by the GoI for the implementation of e-District project and the Tamil Nadu eGovernance Agency (TNeGA) has been designated as “State Designated Agency (SDA)” by MeiTY/ GoTN for implementing the State wide roll-out of e-District project through the Common Service Centres (CSCs). The CSCs run by various agencies are being monitored by TNeGA.
