Bones in our body are living tissue. They have their own blood vessels and are made of living cells, which help them to grow and to repair themselves.

They are composed of a critical cells called osteoclasts that resorb bone tissues and cells called osteoblasts that deposit new bone tissue apart from few additional biological functions.

Collagen and mucopolysaccharides add to the bulk and stability of bone and coexist with the inorganic matrix. This together makes up your standard bone. The marrow inside the cavity contains haemopoietic, stem cells that produce your blood cells and all and is networked with blood vessels and high in fat content. This includes red blood cells, platelets, and the various kinds of white blood cells.

Here's, a cut out longitudinal representation of how a human bone normally looks like on the inside showing intricate blood supply and neural connections.
