There are two phases of the cardiac cycle. In the diastole phase, the heart ventricles are relaxed and the heart fills with blood. In the systole phase, the ventricles contract and pump blood out of the heart and to arteries.

The whole sequence of events related to the heart is called cardiac cycle
Theere are two main phases of cardiac cycle
#1. Ventricular diastole or Atrial systole
#2.Atrial diastole or Ventricular systole
Systole is the contraction phase of heart
Diastole is the relaxation phase of heart
Now,,
$1.Atrial systole is the phase in which the two bicuspid and tricuspid valves are open , the opening of vena cavas
And pulmonary artery are closed
The closing action of this valves produces. A sound DUBB in this phase auricles contract and venticles relax
$2.Ventricular systole is the phase in which the ventricles contract and auricles relax this phase is marked by opening of both the vena cavas , pulmonary artery, the bicuspid and tricupid valves are closed producing a sound LUBB
Hope my answer helps u
