People use different coping strategies, and sometimes the types of coping strategies might be affected by gender
-this is because people of different genders are socialized to have different behaviours (ex: males are socialized to not show emotion, females may be socialized to be less aggressive)
-due to such socialization patterns, one might observe that females are more likely to cry, and males may be more likely to show aggression
-all genders may 'vent' about their frustrations, to themselves or others, or divert their attention to a hobby to distract themselves from their emotions
-both men and women are put under stress, as some women feel pressurized to be successful, but still fit society's gender norms, and some men feel pressurized to be 'manly' and not show emotion; both may feel like they shouldn't tell others about their feelings and burden them
-some may use meditation to enter a calm state of mind
