Consequences of deforestation:

Major consequences to be faced by Nepalese economy due to deforestation are as follow:

(i)     Environment deterioration:  Main consequences of deforestation is environment deterioration. It causes adverse effect on climate. Soil erosion, Landslide, high temperature, irregular rainfall, natural calamities are main environmental deterioration faced due to deforestation.(ii)    Decrease in ground water reserve: Level of underground water is decline day by day due to deforestation.  Trees, root and forest resources is major sources of underground water.

Main causes of deforestation

(i)     High population growth rate: Due to the high growth of population, the dependency on forest is increasing for every sector. With increase the population, increase the additional settlement, more energy consumption, more house construction.(ii)    Migration: Internal as well as external migration problems is major causes of deforestation. People destroy the forest trees for the settlement purpose.
