The strong gravitational pull exerted by the Sun and Moon on the Earth's surface causes the tides. Ocean currents are streams of water flowing constantly on the ocean surface in definite directions. The ocean currents may be warm or cold.

Causes of tides

  • Gravitational force - tides are caused by the influence of moon on the earth . The gravitational pull of moon is more on the earth because of its proximity to the Earth
  • influence of the moon - the earth is pulled towards the moon more than the water at H1 therefore water lags behind and rises up at H1 forming high tide

hope it helps you ✌️
