Gender inequality is the idea or situation that men and women are not equal. Gender inequality refers to perceptions or unequal treatment partly or wholly due to their gender. It arises from differences in gender roles. Gender systems are often dichotomous and hierarchical. Women lag behind men in many aspects including education, labour market, opportunities, political representation and in pay.

The causes of gender inequality are as follows:
- The main cause is the religion
- The other causes are the society
- The social and political leaders are responsible
- Many other causes are there like competition and human development
- But in my opinion religion is the main cause.
Hope it helps you
