during depression the agriculture prize down. industrial production came to halt millions of people became unemployed the depression is caused by the overflow of food grains

Causes of Great Depression

  1. The indebtedness of Indian peasants increased. They have to used their savings to meet their expenses.
  2. With the fall of prices and prospect of depression,US banks also slashed domestic lending.
  3. Farmers could not sell their production, households were ruined and businesses collapsed.
  1. Ultimately,the US banking system collapsed. Unable to recover investments ,collect loans and repay depositors,thousands of banks went bankrupt and were forced to close.
