what are the causes of soil formation

soil is formed when the rocks are broken down.

this process is called weathering.this weathering process is not simple.it takes very long years to complete.

years and centuries are taken up for this weathering and yet only a very thin layer of soil is formed as a result!

also ,after the rockes are broken down, it must mix with other organic matter in its environment to create into soil.

Moreover,weathering is of two types,

1.     Physical weathering,

2.     Chemical weathering, and

3.     Biological weathering


these result in soil formation.
