Online classes, as the term evidently suggests, is learning online or getting yourself educated through online means. Just like everything else, online classes have their pros and cons and I’m going to be stressing more about the cons/challenges. To start with, the first most obvious challenge/con would be the fact that there is no physical activity happening. You’re just sitting and staring at a screen for at least 7 hours or however long your sessions last. That can really be detrimental to not only your physical but mental well-being as well. The second con/challenge would be that not everyone is able to easily afford a device/pay for a stable and regular connection service. Ever since the pandemic started, there have been a lot of people and families going through financial issues and it becomes hard for them when it comes to paying for daily needs, let alone their kids’ education. The third con/challenge would be that you could always have some sort of technical difficulties during sessions. Maybe your WiFi starts acting up, or maybe your PC crashed, or maybe there’s some maintenance work going on that requires you to avoid using electricity for a while. Such factors make it hard to cope with live sessions. The fourth con/challenge would be that you don’t necessarily/really feel much of a personal connection with your classmates and teachers. Having been on-site for at least 12 years, one would think that being away from school for a year or two wouldn’t really make much of a difference, but it does. The connections/relationships that you have with your school, a.k.a second home, start falling apart slowly. In conclusion, I feel one way or the other, all of us have faced if not all, at least a few of the challenges that I mentioned, and all we can really do is just ensure that nothing interrupts/spoils our education process.
