The chances of a large-scale asteroid colliding with earth is almost 1.5% because asteroids are present in the Asteroid belt which is between Mars and Jupiter. Jupiter attracts most of the large asteroids as it has a very strong magnetic force and the asteroids are made up of many metals which can be attracted by magnets .

Hope it helps.
