What are the chances of children having chicken pox?

Best Answer:   The vaccine is approximately 97% effective. About 2% of Immunised children still get Chicken Pox but it is a much milder case than those who are not vaccinated would have.  

Edit- As usual the anti vaxers are misinterpreting facts. Of course when there are disease outbreaks there are more cases reported in people who are vaccinated. That is because the overwhelming majority of people ARE vaccinated. If you break it down into percentages you will find that the diseases are far more prevalent in the non vaccinated population. There is a great explanation of this here, it uses pertussis as an example but the same would apply to Chicken Pox

Children under the age of 2 are most at risk for chickenpox. In fact, 90% of all cases occur in young children. But older kids and adults can get it, too.
