Answer:

Acids taste sour while bases taste bitter. An acid reacts with metals to produce bubbles of hydrogen gas while a base feels slimy to the touch. Acids turn blue litmus paper red while bases turn red litmus paper blue.

hope this helps u

acids :-

  • sour in taste
  • conduct electricity
  • turns blue litmus to red
  • corrosive in nature
  • it reacts with metal to form salt and hydrogen gas
  • it react with metal carbonate and hydro carbonate to salt and carbon dioxide and water
  • it react with base to form naturalization reaction
  • it react with metal oxide to form salt and hydrogen gas

base :-

  • bitter in taste
  • turns red litmus to blue
  • non corrosive
  • poor conductor of electricity
  • it react with acid to form naturalization  reaction
  • Non-metal oxides react with bases to produce salt and water.
  • Alkalis (bases that are soluble in water) react with the metal to produce salt and hydrogen gas. For example reaction of zinc with sodium hydroxide.
