hope this helps u
acids :-
- sour in taste
- conduct electricity
- turns blue litmus to red
- corrosive in nature
- it reacts with metal to form salt and hydrogen gas
- it react with metal carbonate and hydro carbonate to salt and carbon dioxide and water
- it react with base to form naturalization reaction
- it react with metal oxide to form salt and hydrogen gas
base :-
- bitter in taste
- turns red litmus to blue
- non corrosive
- poor conductor of electricity
- it react with acid to form naturalization reaction
- Non-metal oxides react with bases to produce salt and water.
- Alkalis (bases that are soluble in water) react with the metal to produce salt and hydrogen gas. For example reaction of zinc with sodium hydroxide.
