1. the northern plains have been formed from the alluvium that the mountain river deposited here.

2. It lead to the soil turning into for fertile on the surface for growing a rich harvest of variety of crops .

1)They are very much fertile and soil is rich in humus

2)The general slope of the land is from North to south but there are many micro slopes. The intervening slopes which are quite pronounced with the relative variations of 15 to 30m in relief are locally known as khols

3)The Ganga Yamuna doab is the largest doab(the alluvial land between two converging rivers, esp the area between the Ganges and Yamuna in N India)
