Temperature - 20° to 48° C
Features -
• These forests also known as monsoon forests.
• these forests are found widely spread over India.
• In the rest of the world they found in the monsoon regions of Asia, The Mexican region of Central America, Peru, Brazil and the northern parts of Australia.
• the trees shed their leaves during a distinctive dry season to prevent the moisture loss due to transpiration
• these forests are multi layered.
• the forest never remains bare.
• Sal, Sandalwood, sheesham, sandal wood and bamboo are some of the valuable species found here.
• Animals life - tigers leopards lions elephants foxes langurs,bear ,a wide variety of reptiles can be found in these forests.
