CHARCTERISTICS OF ARTHROPODA

Arthropoda is the biggest group of animal. These animals are bilaterally symmetrical as well as segmented. There is an open circulatory system, and hence the blood does not flow in well defined blood vessels. the coelomic cavity is blood-filled. They contain jointed legs ( the word 'arthropoda' means 'jointed legs').

Prawns, butterflies, houseflies, spiders, scorpions and crabs are some examples of Arthropoda.
