METALS

  1. Metals are melleable.
  2. Metals are ductile.
  3. They are good conductors of heat and electricity.
  4. They are lustrous or shiny.
  5. They cannot cut easily.
  6. They are solid except mercury which is a liquid.
  7. They have high melting and boiling point.
  8. They have high densities.
  9. They are sonorous.

Ex :- iron, copper, alluminium, zinc, gold, silver, potassium, nickel, cobalt, tin, lead, mercury, etc.

NON METALS

  1. Non metals are not melleable.
  2. Non metals are not ductile.
  3. They are bad conductors of heat and electricity.
  4. They are not lustrous or shiny.
  5. They can be cut easily.
  6. They are solid, liquid, and gas at room temperature.
  7. They have low melting and boiling point.
  8. They have low densities.
  9. They are not sonorous.

Ex :- carbon, sulphur, helium, hydrogen, phosphorus, fluorine, chlorine, etc.
