laterate soil is used in devolpes in area of high temperature and heavy rainfall ,and humus content is low , it is good for tea coffee chashew nuts etc it is mainly found in Karnataka, Kerala , Tamil nadu, Madhya Pradesh,and hilly areas of Assam and odisha
