Lungs are the respiratory organ that helps in inhale and exhale of gases

• Alveoli which are present in the lung  stock oxygen that we breathe and also exchange oxygen-carbon dioxide through its wall

• The air sac walls/Alveoli of the lungs are very thin so that gases can quickly and easily diffuse from one membrane to another.

• Gases are dissolved with mucus inside the air sac because the biological gas exchange structure demands a moist environment.

• The alveoli have a large network of capillaries so that blood flows at an adequate rate inside the body in extreme conditions.
