Political obligation is the duty of the citizens of a nation to follow the laws of their country. It means the people are obliged to obey the laws mentioned in the constitution.  

Nature of political obligation:    

• Every person has to accept the laws and authority of the constitution.  

• Lack of acceptance will create chaos  

• People who don’t obey laws will be punished accordingly.  

Characteristics of political obligation are:  

Laws extend beyond morality and don’t allow morally innocent behaviour and compelling acts. In such a case, the only duty of an individual is to stick to his/her political obligation.
