Red soil are found in warm, temperate, and moist environment and vary from sand to loamy in nature. This soil as the name suggests is red in color and red color indicates oxidized ferric iron oxides. They are usually poor for cultivation because of its low water holding capacity but crops like bajra can be grown on them.On the lower plains and valley they are dark colored fertile loam on which after proper irrigation cotton, wheat, pulses tobacco ,potatoes can be grown.
